Soft Life = Serious Goals: How to Create a Vision Board You’ll Actually Use
“A soft life isn’t a life without responsibility. It’s a life where everything doesn’t have to feel like an emergency.”
There was a time when I thought “soft life” meant finally getting to the point where I didn’t have to do so much.
Less work. Less stress. More travel. More mornings when I could sit with my coffee without immediately feeling like ten different things needed me.
I still want those things.
But I understand softness differently now.
A soft life comes from building enough structure around your money, business, health, home and goals that everything doesn’t constantly feel like an emergency.
And that’s why I still believe in vision boards.
Not because putting a picture of a beautiful house on a board magically puts one in your driveway.
Sometimes we simply need to sit down long enough to answer:
What am I actually building?

Your Vision Board Needs More Than Just Pretty Pictures
Beautiful kitchen. Passport. Money. Perfect feet. A beach somewhere. A woman drinking coffee on a balcony at 10:30 on a Tuesday morning with apparently nowhere she needs to be. 😂
I love all of that.
But I want the life behind the picture.
If I put travel on my board, what needs to happen financially for me to travel comfortably?
If I put entrepreneurship on my board, what systems does my business need?
If I put financial freedom on there, am I saving, investing, building income streams and protecting my family?
And if I put peace on my board, what do I need to stop doing that keeps disturbing mine?
That’s when a vision board stops being decoration and becomes direction.
👣 Stay 10 Toes Down
This is where Stay 10 Toes Down belongs in my version of the soft life.
I can dream big and still stay grounded.
I can want beautiful things and still pay attention to my money.
I can build businesses and still rest.
I can make money online and still think long-term.
Soft doesn’t mean careless.
Soft means I’m building a life that doesn’t require me to live in survival mode forever.
And that requires planning.
👣 Your Feet Belong in the Soft-Life Conversation Too
Your feet literally carry you through the life you’re trying to build.
We talk about skin care, hair, nails, gym routines and morning routines—and somehow our feet get whatever attention is left.
Not over here. 😂
Taking care of your feet can be part of slowing down enough to check in with your body.
During these last hot weeks of summer, that also means protecting them.
The American Academy of Dermatology recommends broad-spectrum, water-resistant SPF 30 or higher on exposed skin, including feet when wearing sandals or going barefoot.
And around pools, gyms, showers and locker rooms? Wear protective footwear. Warm, moist shared spaces can increase exposure to the fungi that cause athlete’s foot.
Maintenance is part of the soft life too.

✨ Build a Board Around Your Real Life
Instead of filling your board with random things you want, build it around the woman you’re becoming.
MONEY
What would make you feel financially safer?
BUSINESS + INCOME
What are you building that could create another stream of income?
HEALTH + SELF-CARE
What does taking better care of your body actually look like?
HOME
What would make your home feel peaceful instead of Pinterest-perfect?
FREEDOM
Travel? Entrepreneurship? More time? Multiple income streams? Less financial stress?
Don’t just put FREEDOM on the board.
Define it.
📝 Give Every Dream One Next Move
This is the part that changes everything.
Under each major dream, write one next action.
Dream: Travel more.
Next move: Start a travel savings account.
Dream: Grow my business.
Next move: Publish today’s content.
Dream: Create another income stream.
Next move: Finish the digital product I’ve been sitting on.
Dream: Protect my family.
Next move: Learn what financial protection options I actually have.
Now the vision board isn’t asking the universe to do all the work.
You’re participating.

What would make my life feel 10% softer six months from now?
Not perfect.
Not completely transformed.
Just softer.
Then ask:
What can I start doing today to make that possible?
There’s your next move.
Stay soft. Keep dreaming.
But Stay 10 Toes Down. 👣
